Big Smiles and Sticky Cheeks!

Family Lifestyle Session Ottawa

Not many people know this but I sincerely love documentary family photography just as much as I do documentary wedding photography - and that says A LOT.  I was overjoyed when Luc and Mel contacted us to take some pictures and document this chapter in their lives together with their super awesome kids.  Luc must have been one of the friendliest guy ever via e-mail and when I finally met him in person I instantly felt an appreciation, friendship and connection with him.  Mel is super sweet and has the most piercing blue eyes and one of the warmest smile you could ever imagine, even on a cold winter's day in January.  Maëlle, their oldest, is a very special girl and an absolute sweetheart.  Of all the people I have ever met, she reminds the the most of our son Enlai.  And Loïc!  HAHA!  Little guy warmed my heart, constantly calling out my name and is an absolute hurricane when eating Pho!

We started off our family lifestyle session at their home in Gatineau and headed off to the Rideau Canal with their brand new sleigh for some beavertails, fun, fresh air and special treats.  Sprinkle in a ton of memorable moments, a few creative fine-art family portraits here and there, some delicious dinner together and a violin show by one of Ottawa's finest, and I have to say it was a day that kept me smiling long after I uploaded my memory cards.  =)

Luc, Mel, Maëlle and Loïc, thank you so much for letting me have this glimpse into your beautiful lives together.  You are a precious family and I can tell that you count your blessings every day to have one another.  It was truly a privilege to spend an afternoon with you to forever capture this small paragraph in the story in your lives.

Cheers, hugs and high-fives,

Matt (and Ann)
